Vancouver, nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountains, is a vibrant city known for its scenic beauty, diverse culture, and plethora of activities for families. If you're planning a family adventure in Vancouver, look no further! Here are the top 10 things to do with kids in this lively city:

1. Stanley Park

Stanley Park

Kickstart your Vancouver escapade with a visit to Stanley Park, a 400-hectare urban oasis offering a mix of nature and attractions. Ride a horse-drawn carriage, visit the Vancouver Aquarium, or rent bikes at Spokes and bike along the seawall with this audio tour. There's a downtown bus stop right near the park, which is convenient!

2. Granville Island Public Market

A vibrant hub of food and culture, Granville Island Public Market is a paradise for food-loving families. Taste local delights, shop for artisan goods, and let the kids indulge in sweet treats while soaking up the lively atmosphere. You'll need ferry tickets - linked here.

3. Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

For a nature experience everyone will love, head to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. The views were incredible, kids' activities were simple and interactive, and the food was great! Transportation without a car seat is easy as they offer a free shuttle from downtown or there's a public bus stop about 2 blocks from the park entrance. My favorite parts were the make your own passport station and Raptors Ridge, I learned more about birds of prey in 10 minutes there than I've learned in my whole life.

Grouse Mountain

4. Grouse Mountain

Embark on a memorable mountain adventure at Grouse Mountain. Take the Skyride gondola to the mountaintop for panoramic views, encounter wildlife at the Refuge for Endangered Wildlife, and enjoy seasonal activities like snowshoeing or ziplining.

5. Science World at TELUS World of Science

Engage young minds with a visit to Science World at TELUS World of Science. Interactive exhibits, immersive displays, and hands-on activities will spark curiosity and fun while learning about science and technology.

6. Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour

This is often one of the best ways to see a new city, and helps little ones not get overtired from walking everywhere.

7. Vancouver Lookout observation deck

The best view in the city! See Gastown, Coal Harbour, Stanley Park and the surrounding mountains from 553 feet up. Your ticket includes an audio tour, and you can stay as long as you'd like!

Lynn Canyon Park

8. Vancouver Beaches

Indulge in some beach fun at Vancouver's pristine beaches. Whether it's building sandcastles, flying kites, or simply relaxing by the water, beaches like English Bay Beach, Kitsilano Beach, and Third Beach offer a perfect setting for a day of family enjoyment.

9. VanDusen Botanical Garden

Stroll through the enchanting landscapes of VanDusen Botanical Garden. Discover a diverse collection of plant species, enjoy themed gardens, and let the kids run wild in the outdoor maze and play areas. The bus stop is only 3 minutes away, love it when I don't need a rental car!

10. FlyOver Canada

Experience the thrill of flight at FlyOver Canada, a virtual flight simulation ride taking you on an aerial tour of Canada's stunning landscapes. Sit back, soar through the skies, and witness the beauty of Canada without leaving Vancouver. A 25 minute experience, for those 40" and taller. Located in the downtown waterfront area, this would be a perfect pre-cruise activity!
